Where We Live Now, Part 1: Around the Village

As most of you know, at the end of October we moved to a new house in a new village. There are two main advantages to our new place: first, we have much more space inside; and second, the train station is a short walk from our front door. This means Eric can easily walk to the train and be to Oxford in twenty minutes. We miss our beautiful garden and stream in the old place, but are generally very glad we moved. I will eventually post pictures of the house, but first I have to take them! In the meanwhile, here is a brief tour of the village green.

My very favorite feature (other than the green itself and the stream) is the village post office that sets up in the pub every Monday and Friday from 10 to noon. We mailed some Christmas cards from this mobile post office and everything seemed to make it to its destination, so I guess it's a real post office!

On this particular day the stream was frozen over, which provided hours of fun for the kids as they tried to walk across it and break it with stones.

We had we shoes when we got home, but it was worth it...
