A Girl and Her Pictures
Today in honor of Rebecca's 6th birthday I thought I'd post some of her drawings. She draws at least ten pictures each day, and has for the past three years. I save a small handful to put in a little binder I have so that I can remember what she liked to draw at different ages. I have literally hundreds. The ones above are just a small smattering from the past two years, when she was four and five, that I have pictures of. They are not in chronological order because I am not that organized. I'm just proud I've got them saved somewhere that I can find them. Some of them are from her head, in some she was copying something she saw, but they are all freehand. I wish I had a photo of her Garfield. She can draw Garfield like she was born to do it. She loves to draw like Justin loves to ride trains. It's one of her gifts.
I'm posting this not because I hope she's the next Van Gogh (actually, given his life story I very much hope she is NOT the next Van Gogh!), or because I think her drawings are better than your drawings (although I will say they are better than her father's...:)), but because she loves to draw and when she does it makes my world more beautiful. If my photos were better, they'd make your world more beautiful too :)
So, happy birthday to my beautiful girl with her beautiful pictures. (For the record, she's also determined, athletic, generous, smart, feisty, and creative, among other things. We love her like crazy.)
i tried to post here earlier but can't on my ipad.
ReplyDeleteanyway, maybe i suggested this in an email, but i think you should make a book of some of Rebecca's drawings (i mean on-line, then print paper copies) (-:
That's a good idea!
