Village Fete

Important Note: "Fete" should be pronounced "fate" or "feet" if you want to fit in here. Despite its French origins, these are the ways I've heard it said...

Anyway, the village down the road (Lower Swell, for those keeping track) had its fete a few weeks ago, just before we went to Scotland. Apparently, most of the villages in the Cotswolds have these little fetes sometimes during the summer, so almost every weekend day you can find one within just a few miles. We decided to go see what it was all about. We lucked out with a beautiful sunny day, so we fully enjoyed the dog agility competition, the face painting, and the ice cream.

The dog show was somewhat hilarious, as it was just people from the village and their dogs, so there was little training. One dog jumped over the fence and ran into the crowd, a few refused, and it was pretty funny watching the owners try to get their confused dogs to do the course properly. I do think some of the dogs were looking at all the watching humans wondering what in the world they were up to!
